生命の象徴である卵を身体のくぼみに挟み、開館から閉館まで落とさない様に時を過ごすことで、わたしと世界の間にある隔たりや、暴力性について考察します。
– – – – 傷つきやすい身体で生きていく理由が知りたい。 くぼみやへこみ、柔らかいところと硬いところ。 どうしてこんな形をしているのか知りたい。 わたしって何なのか知りたい。 身体って何なのか知りたい。 わたしのはしっこが知りたい。 できるならあなたのはしっこも知りたい。 何かとかたときも離れず一緒でありたい。 あ な た の 温 度 が 知りた い 。 あなたの感触が知りたい。 あなたの匂いが知りたい。 あなたの重さが知りたい。 そこにのしかかる重力を知りたい。 大切なものの受け止めかたが知りたい。 大切なわたしの受け入れかたが知りたい。 他者の命を落としてみたい。 他者の命は落としてはいけない。 その本当の理由が知りたい。 私は知りたい。

– – – – I want to know the reasons to live with this fragile body. Dents and hollows, soft places and hard places. I want to know why it’s formed like this. I want to know what I am. I want to know what a body is. I want to know where my border is. And if possible, I want to know yours as well. I want to be with something all the time and never leave for a second. I want to know your temperature. I want to know your touch. I want to know your scent. I want to know your weights. I want to know the gravity that lays on us. I want to know the way to hold on to the important things. I want to know the way to hold my important self. I want to break others’ lives. I must not break others’ lives. I want to know the real reasons for that. I just want to know.

1995年福岡県生まれ。「わたし」や「身体」への興味をもとに絵画・インスタレーション・パフォーマンスなどを国内外にて発表。主な展覧会に「ささやかな叫び」（The Mass、東京）、「Al Borde」（Taller Sangfer 、メキシコ、オアハカ）など多数。2022年福岡アジア美術館レジデンスプログラムに招聘。
Soh Souen
Born in Fukuoka, Japan in 1995. Continues to present paintings, installations, and performances both outside and inside Japan based on his interest in the self and the body. Some of his major exhibitions are “The Modest Scream” (The Mass, Tokyo), “Al Borde” (Taller Sangfer, Oaxaca, Mexico), and so on. Participated in the Artist In Residence program at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum in 2022.
