EE_Park: tea-common(s)

tea-common(s) envisions an entire parking lot as an improvised pan-Asian public space to explore the potential of “publicness” in Asia. Recognizing that the concept of publicness and the very framework of ‘Asia’ originate from the West, tea-common(s) draws from the public nature inherent in “chatting over tea” to create a space for relaxed interaction.

The artist-run residency 6okken, based at the foot of Mount Fuji across six houses, has continued to conduct collective research on Asia. They will invite guests from across Asia for public discussions during the exhibition period.

beatfic experiment, a creative label that specializes in supporting disaster-affected areas, will install a radio monument in the center of the space, allowing visitors to tune-in to Noto’s community FM radio station. Romance Hashimoto’s “Kumanou” and other performances will be staged in the surrounding area.

A blackboard in the tea-drinking area corresponds to color-coded tents. Visitors can write down discussion topics or workshops they want to host, encouraging active participation in shaping the space and building future solidarity.
