Since 2016, French artist duo Julia Borderie & Eloïse Le Gallo (b. 1989) have placed encounters with people at the center of their practice, using a poetic documentary approach that is both investigative and meandering. Sculptures, performances, and films emerge from the stories they collect, tracing singular trajectories through landscapes and questioning human relationships with water. Recent works engage with scientific imagery through collaborations with research laboratories. Borderie graduated from ENSA Paris-Cergy (2011) and UQÀM in Montreal (2015); Le Gallo from ENSBA Paris (2013). Projects developed through residencies at La Station (Aubervilliers, 2021), Moly-Sabata (Sablons, 2020), and Mains d’Œuvres (Saint-Ouen, 2019). Exhibitions include CAC La Traverse (Alfortville, 2021), at 18 (Marrakech, 2019), and the Venice Architecture Biennale (2018). Joined Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains as a duo in 2021.
