短編《金剛経(The Poet and Singer)》(2012)が第19回IFVAフェスティバル(2013、香港)Asian New Force部門スペシャルメンション受賞。長編デビュー《凱里ブルース》(2015)がロカルノ国際映画祭最優秀新進監督賞、ナント三大陸映画祭金の気球賞、金馬奨最優秀新人監督賞ほか受賞し国際配給。長編第2作《ロングデイズ・ジャーニー この夜の涯てへ》(2017)は第71回カンヌ国際映画祭「ある視点」でプレミア。本作はカンヌ短編部門オフィシャルコンペティション選出、ニューヨーク・フィルム・フェスティバル、サンダンス、サン・セバスチャン国際映画祭に招待。

Born in 1989 in Kaili City, Guizhou Province, People’s Republic of China. Screenwriter and director. In 2013, short film The Poet and Singer (2012) received a Special Mention in the Asian New Force category at the 19th IFVA Festival. Debut feature Kaili Blues (2015) won the Best Emerging Director Award at the 68th Festival del film Locarno, the Montgolfière d’Or at the 37th Festival des 3 Continents, and the Best New Director Award at the 52nd Golden Horse Awards, among others. The film was shown at numerous international festivals and widely distributed. Second feature Long Day’s Journey Into Night (2017) premiered in Un Certain Regard at the 71st Festival de Cannes. This work was also selected for the Short Film Official Competition at the Cannes Film Festival and invited to the New York Film Festival, Sundance Film Festival, and San Sebastián International Film Festival.
