ROAD TO NOTO karikakko×SIDE CORE

PARCO Art Wall will feature a work by the artist unit 仮( )-karikakko, in conjunction with Living road, Living space, a solo exhibition by SIDE CORE currently on view at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa. The work connects the scenery of the Noto Peninsula to Tokyo by superimposing the artist’s words onto photographs of temporary storage sites for earthquake debris. The debris pictured is timber from homes destroyed by the earthquake, which the artists collect to use as fuel to operate Suzu City’s only public bathhouse, Kaigan Amida-yu. Their approach of practicing art as a form of  “wisdom for living” embodies the very path that connects the land’s memories to daily life.
